Do you often find yourself in situations where you feel physically overwhelmed or feel that your suffering with anxiety? Heart racing, sweating or struggling to breath? Maybe you have feel a pain in the pit of your stomach or a pounding headache. The symptoms of anxiety disorder differ from person to person, but mostly they are characterised by a physical 'dis-ease' at the level of the body.
Never give up. You can get help and get to a place where you feel more at ease with yourself.
Anxiety is often felt in very physical terms and unfortunately it's extremely common. I teach at the School of Psychotherapy in University College Dublin and last week the class asked me what I thought the 'dis-ease' du jour is. I din't have to think for very long.
Anxiety is a big issue for so many people. In my clinic it is something I help people work through on a daily basis.
